Winter melon yogurt/Poosinikai thayir kootu


                                                   
Ingredients
Winter melon/poosanikai- 1 Quater part
Onion -1/2 size
Red chilli-3\\
Yogurt/curd-1/4 cup
Mustard seeds-1/4 tbsp
Urad dal-1/4 tbsp
Channa dal-1/4 tbsp
Turmeric powder-1/4 tbsp
Curry leaves-few

Method
While cutting the winter melon,scoop out the inner white part and use bottom or thicker outer side for cooking.Chop them into small cubes.In a pan,heat 1 tbsp of oil,add mustard seed when it splutters,add urad dal,channa dal and curry leaves.Add chopped onions and red chillies.Saute them for 5 min and then add chopped winter melon/poosanikai fry them and close it with lid and cook.Sprinkle little water and add salt to it.Saute them occasionally.When they become soft,put turmeric powder and saute them for 5 min.Turn off the flame and transfer to another bowl.When they are completely cool add yogurt.Winter melon yogurt/Poosinikai thayir  kootu is ready to go with rice,idly,chappathis.
