Idli upma is one among my favorite recepies.One of my friend's mom used to cook this recepie oftentimes.
It is very simple recepie to make,which gives you an exceptional taste.Kids usually gets bored with idlis and dosas,this idli upma will be different for them to eat.
Ingredients
Idlis-5
Onions-1 medium size
Dry red chill- 2 to 3
Channa dal-1/4 tbsp
Urad dal-1/4 tbsp
Tomato -1
Turmeric powder
Curry leaves
Cilantro leaves
Method
If there were left over idlis,that would be perfect otherwise you make the idlis,let it become cool,after an hour u can start cooking.
Scramble the idlis well.In a pan pour 2tbsp of oil,add mustard seeds when it splutters,put channa dal,urad dal and curry leaves.Add onions and red chillies saute for about 6 min,till onions become translucent,after that add chopped tomatoes,when tomatoes become soft,add salt and turmeric powder.Finally add the scrambled idlis and saute for another 5 min.add the chopped cilantro leaves.Turn off the flame.
Note:
You can also add some steamed or boiled vegetables like peas,carrots and beans that will be even more nutritious idli upma.
