Hi viewers, this is my very first recipe in this blog and also my most favorite rasam happy to share with you.The rasam remembers me lot of good things starting from helping for digestion,cold and cough suppressant,my kid will not eat without rasam even me too.There are different varieties of rasam.
Ingredients
Ripe tomatoes-2
Toor dal-2Tbsp
Cumin seeds-1Tbsp
Peppercorns-5to 6 nos
Garlic-3 cloves
Hing-1/4 Tbsp
Turmeric powder-1/4Tbsp
Red Chillies-2
Curryleaves
Cilantro
Method
Dry roast the toor dal,cumin seeds,peppercorns separately.Save it in a plate.Now in the same pan, put one Tbsp of oil, add chopped Tomatoes and fry for about 10 min till it becomes soft and mussy then add garlic saute it for 3 minutes.In a mixer, add dry coarse mixture and cooked tomatoes,grind them fine like chutney consistency.Now we are in final step for seasoning,In a pan add 1 tbsp oil,put mustard seeds after it splutters, put hing,red chillies,curryleaves then add the blended rasam mixture.Put some turmeric powder and freshly chopped cilantro leaves, give it a stir,after 6 minutes you will see a foam like layer on your rasam, that is the stage you can turn off the flame, before it boils.Now the rasam is ready with nice aroma.
Note:The important thing to remember while making rasam is, turn off the flame before it boils.
